AskMauritius ("we", "us") is an AI travel concierge that helps visitors discover and explore Mauritius. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the AskMauritius app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Your questions and chats. The messages you send to the AI concierge are processed so we can answer you, and may be stored to improve the quality of answers.
• Device and usage data. Basic technical information such as device type, app version, language setting, and anonymised usage statistics (for example, which features are used most).
• Saved places. If you bookmark spots in the app, we store that list so it stays available to you.

We do not ask for, and you should not include, sensitive personal information (such as passport numbers or payment details) in your chats.

How we use your information

• To answer your questions and provide recommendations about Mauritius.
• To improve the accuracy and helpfulness of the concierge.
• To understand overall usage of the app so we can make it better.

AI processing

Your chat messages are processed by AI language-model providers acting on our behalf in order to generate answers. These providers process your messages to provide the service and are not permitted to use them for their own purposes.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your chats for third-party advertising.
• We do not require an account to ask questions.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete data associated with you at any time using the contact details below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, just email us — we're happy to help.

Children

AskMauritius is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
